NAMES Becky Kunis & Matt Tuski LIVE IN Lake Oswego HOW THEY MET Through work; both are CPAs HOW THEY GOT ENGAGED On a Bend getaway: Matt surprised Becky with Champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a ring WEDDING-DAY WEATHER 80 and sunny (in May—thank goodness the venue had air conditioning) NUMBER OF GUESTS 175 COLORS Navy and yellow THEME Modern with an Industrial Portland flair FLOWERS A bouquet of calla lilies pinned with a rose gold brooch from Becky’s grandmother MENU HIGHLIGHTS Bacon-wrapped dates with salted almonds and chèvre, an antipasti plate selection with Laurelhurst Market charcuterie, rhubarb mostarda and whipped-brie griddled sandwiches, cedar-plank black cod with wild mushroom and asparagus ragout DESSERT Instead of a regular cake, they had a gluten-free “cupcake cake” and an ice cream cart from Salt & Straw, plus plenty of toppings-—the cart was a huge hit! SIGNATURE DRINKS A “Mr. T” gin and tonic and a “Mrs. T” vodka and soda FAMILY TOUCHES Matt’s 3-year-old son, Marcus, helped him build the entrance sign and chalkboards, the couple’s moms helped create the chalkboard menu displays, they made their own ribbon backdrop, and Becky’s dad designed labels for the gifts for guests: bottles of local pinot UNIQUE ELEMENTS Starting with a blank industrial space meant they got to customize every aspect of the setting FIRST DANCE SONG “Making Memories of Us” by Keith Urban IF THEY HAD IT TO DO OVER They would have started at 6 or 6:30 instead of 5; guests show up early, anyway, and a later ceremony would have set the evening mood and allowed more time beforehand for pictures THE DAY IN THREE WORDS Modern, chic, entertaining HONEYMOON Dalmatian coast, Croatia

It’s cliché to say that the day goes by in a flash, but it’s the absolute truth, so pause and take a minute to enjoy every detail and time with family and friends.  —Becky Tuski
