NAMES Caroline Parr and Alex Gross LIVE IN Southwest Portland OCCUPATIONS She’s a commercial realtor; he’s an entrepreneur HOW THEY MET They were both flying to Arizona to watch the Ducks play in the 2011 college football national championship and chatted briefly at PDX—they ended up on the same flight home, sat together, and the rest is history THE PROPOSAL Alex popped the question in the exact place by the escalator at PDX where they first exchanged numbers REHEARSAL DINNER Alex’s parents hosted a “Southwest Airlines”-themed bash for the wedding party and out-of-town guests at the Uptown Billiards Club (Alex’s favorite restaurant) in honor of the couple’s first meeting NUMBER OF GUESTS 250 COLORS Blush, rose gold, ivory, and light greens—colors they loved against the industrial backdrop of their ceremony site, the Fields Park VIBE Soft and romantic with great lighting (think abundant candles and twinkle lights) and lots of personality FLOWERS Tons of tulips, Caroline’s favorite bloom. Centerpieces were all below eye level to promote dinner conversation. The chuppah was embellished with hydrangea, garden roses, and greenery. LOCAL LOVE Marquee letters that read “PDX” topped a table of cookies/escort cards decorated in the beloved PDX carpet pattern MENU A classic formal dinner with beef short ribs and salmon DESSERT Caroline’s favorite meal is dessert, so they went with a lavish display of bite-size sweets, like almond macaroons and lavender crème brûlée, plus a candy buffet for guests to take as a treat-to-go FIRST DANCE SONG James Morrison’s “You Make It Real” sung by close friends WHAT THEY’D DO DIFFERENTLY Eat their wedding dinner! They were so excited to talk to everyone that they forgot. ADVICE Don’t worry about the details; just enjoy the day and the people around you THE DAY IN THREE WORDS Joyful, loving, energetic HONEYMOON Europe

The speeches were so special! All the amazing, thoughtful, caring support from loved ones was more than we could have ever asked for. —Caroline Parr
